Pure Aftabi Salajit/Chitrali salajit

Salajit is a fluid substance found in Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan which is extracted from the mountains. Ancient physicians have described several medical benefits of this fluid. These include bone weakness, physical weakness, and impotence. Salajit found in North Pakistan, especially Chitral and Kalash, is a discharge from the mountains. It has the same color as ink-shaped chocolate. In the Chitrali (Khowar) language, it is called “Zumu Ashro” which means the tears of the mountains. The word Ashro is made of the Punjabi language Athro and with the slight modification which means tears. Salajit is used to attach broken bones and warm the body.
